Rayburn was an amazing hard rock band from Little Rock that formed in 1970. They have no released recordings, but recorded for Mega Records,
an RCA subsidiary plus Jaggars Recording studio in Little Rock and in Memphis at Steve Cropper's TMI studio.
The Rayburn CD, available from Psych of the South Records #4502, gathers their extant demos and is highly recommended to fans of psychedelic and homegrown progressive rock from the 70s.
I gathered as many reel to reel demos, photos, and personal accounts to write the liner notes for the 12 page full color booklet and had their demos remastered and speed corrected. This is the latest project from my label, Psych of the South.

Reunion July 31st, 2009 - Juanita's - Little Rock, AR

Rayburn recently reunited for their first show in over 30 years. The reunion gathers together the 3 remaining members of the group, Steve Stephens, Robbie Carder, and Mack Price. They also brought in their kids to round out the band and fill in for the late Jimmy Roberts on guitar. Mack's son, Patrick "Mack the 5th", covered Roberts' guitar parts and Justin Carder, Robbie's son, covered many vocal parts. Also, Ryan Carder, also Robbie's son, performed with the band. Sydney Price, Mack's daugther, sang backup vocals. Tom Roberts, Jimmy's older brother, sang on "Songbird", a composition by Jimmy that you can hear on the Rayburn CD. Also Liz Carder played organ on "Songbird". The night was also filled with the music of the "Children of Rayburn." Jessica Carder, Robbie's daughter, performed as an opener. To start the show Mack played with his kids, Sydney and Patrick "Mack the 5th," in a stripped down acoustic setting. After the Rayburn performance, Ryan Carders's group Falcon Scott took to the stage. Bethany Carder also rovided background vocals. It was a multi-generational celebration of Rayburn's music and legacy. - Harold Ott
